If It's Not One Thing It's Another
over 2 years ago – Sat, Dec 18, 2021 at 03:48:45 AM

So the good news I have is that all of the books are safely at their respective fulfillment warehouses where they will be boxed up and shipped to backers.

The bad news is that I'm now being told that due to the "holiday rush", they can't give me an eta on when that shipping will start.

These fulfillment companies obviously ship a lot of stuff for a lot of different companies, and with things extra spicy in the shipping business this year, they are currently focused on shipping stuff from stores that were perhaps ordered as Christmas presents and are time-sensitive.

Which, you know, I understand. But also at the same time, bleh.

I don't even have any of these books yet, and I spent over a year working on them. I'm as anxious to get them going as you are.

I will continue to try and nail down something more specific, but the general vibe I'm getting at the moment is "not until after Christmas."

Once shipping starts, it should move pretty quickly though.

US Addon Shipping
over 2 years ago – Sat, Nov 20, 2021 at 02:01:00 PM

I've started printing labels to mail out some of the pledge extras (stickers, bookmarks, etc) for US backers. I'd printed 400 of them before I realized that the software was sending emails to announce that a "shipment was on the way", but it's from an old store I had and the URL is dead.

Just ignore this email. There is no "order" for you to look at, there is no tracking number, these are not the books. These are just envelopes with some flat goods, coming via old fashioned snail mail.

But, if you are in the US, keep an eye out for this stuff in the mail in the next week or two.

Locking Addresses
over 2 years ago – Fri, Nov 12, 2021 at 05:17:52 PM

I am going to be locking addresses towards the end of the day. If you are in Australia or the United States, and have moved recently, please make sure your address is correct so we can commence shipping soon (backerkit.com).

Backers in other regions, we'll still have time to edit addresses manually before shipping if you need to, just reach out to me directly (I've been told the UK shipment is expected in port on 12/8).

Note: For US backers only, you addons like bookmarks, bookplates and stickers will ship and arrive separately from the books. This is due to the restrictions of Media Mail.

Here We Go!
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 08, 2021 at 07:32:56 PM

I've received word that the United States shipment has cleared customs and arrived at the warehouse, and the Australian shipment has finally been offloaded from the ship and transported to the warehouse there. This means that for those two regions, shipping is imminent!

I expect those books to start shipping to customers in the next couple of weeks, so now is the time to let me know if you need any address changes. If you have moved in the past month or two, or will be moving before the end of November, log into backerkit.com and check your pledge address on file, or reach out to me directly here on Kickstarter within the next few days.

I have no new information on the UK/EU shipments, so I presume they are still in some stage of transit. The Canadian shipment is being moved north by truck from the US shipment, so those will be on their way to the CA warehouse shortly now that the US shipment is in hand.

I will post again this week once I have more firm dates.

Is It Really An Update If There's Nothing To Update?
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 19, 2021 at 12:32:24 AM

Behold: Another "Keeping you in the loop with my lack of exciting information" update. The status of the pallets of books are as follows:

US/CANADA Pallets: Arrived in New York on 10/5. Still awaiting customs clearance. Should move pretty quickly once that happens.

AUSTRALIA Pallets: Sitting inside a container ship in port, unable to be offloaded because they don't have enough trucks to transport all the stuff. (Seriously, the USPS even stopped first-class mail to Australia because they're trying to limit the amount of incoming packages to try and catch up).

EU and UK Pallets:
